Customized continuing education for therapists, doulas, midwives, lactation and pediatric teams — virtual nationwide, in person across the Jersey Shore

Public CE events are useful, but they can’t speak to the families your team actually sees. When I train your practice privately, we work from your caseload, your referral patterns, and the gaps you’re trying to close — so your clinicians leave with skills they’ll use the next morning, not just a certificate.

I’m Jerusha Hull, LCSW, PMH-C — a perinatal mental health specialist, author of the postpartum workbook There’s a Fourth Trimester?!, and a practicing clinician who still sees postpartum clients every week. Every training I deliver is grounded in that day-to-day clinical reality, not just research.

Bring a training to your team: request a training or email [email protected].

    Who I train

I design perinatal mental health and fourth trimester trainings for the full circle of providers who touch a new parent’s life:

    • Mental health group practices and licensed therapists (LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
    • Doulas, midwives, and birth workers
    • Breastfeeding and lactation centers
    • OB/GYN, pediatric, and women’s health practices
    • Holistic and perinatal wellness centers

Whatever your discipline, the through-line is the same: how to recognize when a parent is struggling, and what to do next.

    Why practices bring me in

A custom training does what an off-the-shelf webinar can’t. We use real (de-identified) cases from your population, build shared clinical language across roles, and sharpen the handoff between the people who spot a struggling parent and the people who treat them. For interdisciplinary teams, that coordination is often the difference between a mother who falls through the cracks and one who gets referred in time.

By the end, your team is more confident screening for postpartum mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), clearer on when and how to refer, and better equipped to support anxious first-time parents and their support systems.

    What I train on

My specialties sit squarely in the perinatal window:

    • Postpartum anxiety, depression, and the full range of PMADs
    • Fourth trimester preparation and postpartum planning
    • Adjustment to parenthood and postpartum identity shifts
    • High-functioning anxiety in new mothers
    • Supporting clients after infertility and pregnancy loss
    • Distinguishing the “baby blues” from clinical concern — and knowing when to refer

Every session is practical and case-based, built around what your team will actually do with it.

    Formats

I keep the format flexible to fit your team’s schedule and budget:

    • 90-minute workshops and 2-hour trainings
    • Half-day intensives
    • Virtual (available nationwide) or in person across the Jersey Shore and New Jersey

Each training includes a structured curriculum, learning objectives, case-based discussion, and practical tools — with optional Q&A and clinical consultation built in.

    Continuing education credit

I offer CE-eligible trainings through my ASWB (ACE) and NBCC approvals, including attendance verification, evaluation forms, and CE certificates. Participants must attend the full session to receive credit, and because regulatory boards are the final authority on what they accept, I’m always happy to confirm eligibility for your team’s specific licenses before we book.

    What teams say

“Thank you for such an informative course. The scientific information on hormonal changes during the postpartum period strengthened my understanding of the biological factors involved in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. I appreciated the emphasis on engaging clients and their partners in collaborative conversations, as well as the guidance on timing for screening and follow-up. The course offered practical strategies for introducing preventative interventions during the fourth trimester. I’ll be purchasing your book by the end of the day — I feel the information will be helpful in our ongoing work with clients.”

    — Clinician, private group-practice training

“My organization had the pleasure of having Jerusha present at our inaugural mental health conference. Her professionalism, expertise, and commitment to her craft were impressive. I would highly recommend her to clients and organizations as a whole.”

    — Dr. Ashley Shepard, Access 304

    Why Virtue Counseling

When you book a private training, you’re learning from a clinician who does this work, not just teaches it — 16+ years of experience, a perinatal specialization, active postpartum caseload, and real experience facilitating across interdisciplinary teams. Your team gets content grounded in both the research and the messy reality of clinical practice.

Ready to strengthen your team’s perinatal care? Request a training or email [email protected], and tell me a little about your practice and what you’re hoping your team walks away with. I’ll follow up with format and pricing options.
